The game between Rafael and me is going on for a while now but only quite "usual" things happened so far! :-)

18. August 1940:
Allied Headquarters announces:

After occupying Paris, last french troops surrendered in August 1940 after heavy resistance to the german invaders +++ Poland and France in German hands +++ Uk preparing for german invasion +++ continuing naval battles in the North Sea +++ No activity in North Africa +++ heavy fights in China without major terrain gains for japanese troops, only Foochow lost so far

The LW is pounding a brittish corps from Calais, the RN retreated after losing 2 dd and a BB for the loss of two CS. No naval activity in the Med yet. Africa quiet and peaceful.
The Emperor is kind of worried for the lack of advance in China, more troops and weapons promised to break the stand still, alredy two arty units deployed.

It's more like a static war as on the Western Front in WWI. :duell:

Both sides steadily bring fresh troops on the war fields, but there's not really an development.

October 4th, 1941:

Joined Allied Headquarter announces:

European theater:
2 Soviet Garde tank corps have been destroyed. Soviets are defending the line Smolensk - Kursk. Wehrmacht advances towards Smolensk with 5 armies, 1 now east of smolensk but weakened by Soviet counter attacks. Other main focus in the south where all tanks corps (4-5) are massed by the germans. After recapturing the abandoned Charkov with a corps it has been occupied by german tank troops again. Soviet cruiser sunk by Stukas near Odessa.

Heavy naval battles in the Adriatic Sea. 1 british cruiser sunk by italian submarine. In return 1 battleship heavily damaged by British torpedo bombers, 1 cruiser damaged in naval battle. Another Italian battleship sighted. Decisive battle for the naval dominance in the Mediterranean Sea short to come. Tobruk under attack by British infantry. Due to a blockade Tobruk is without supply.

England totally blocked by German submarines and battleships. Royal Air Force tries hard to blow up the blockade.

Pazific theater:
Some skirmishes in China with some counter attacks by Chinese troops.

European theater:
Smolensk under heavy attack by 4 german armies, 1 corps and 2 artillery groups. Soviet army annihilated, leaving Smolensk unprotected. 3rd army has been thrown into Smolensk.

Heavy naval battles in the Adriatic Sea continue. Battleship HMS Warspite sunk. In return Italian cruisers Fume and Pola sunk, cruiser Trieste heavily damaged. Bad weather prevent torpedo bombers from attacking.

Tobruk has been liberated from Italian occupation.

Blockade of England by German subs and battleship continues. Royal Air Force damages one battleship seriously.

Pazific theater:
One Japanese army destroyed by combined attacks from Chinese troops north of Hong Kong. Battleship Fuso heavily damaged by Flying Tigers.

European theater:
Smolensk still under heavy attack now by 6 german armies and 2 artillery groups. The 3rd Soviet army supported by winter weather is defending and holding Smolensk. German tanks before Rostov which is defended by 2 corps.

In the Adriatic Sea battleship Andrea Doria and cruiser Trieste sunk. Benghazi under attack by British infantry.

England still blockaded by German naval forces. Yugoslavia attacked by German, Italian and Albania forces, defenders offer serious resistance.

Pazific theater:
Only small skirmishes in China.

European theater:
After being heavily damaged by the RAF battleship Tirpitz was sunk by sub Truant in the Firth of Forth. Ariete destroyed between Benghazi and Tripolis, British troops advancing. Smolensk still defended by the 3rd Army. Germany masses 4 Panzer Groups near Kharkov, counter attack by Garde tank army. Sevastopol under attack by Romanian forces supported by strong air strikes. Yugoslavia surrendered after heavy resistance to Axis forces.

Pazific theater:
Japanese declared war on the USA, followed by a massive attack of naval and land forces. 3 battleships and a cruiser were sunk in Pearl Harbour by superior Japanese fleet consisting of about 5 carriers, battleships and cruiser. Japanese amphibious forces take Nauru. Manila was taken by Japanese special forces consequently leading the Philipinnes to surrender to the aggressors. Brunei invaded by Japanese paratroopers. Singapore has also fallen to the Japanese. 1 US sub lost to aircraft carrier.

Garde tank army lost near Voronezh. 1 corps destroyed east of Rostov, German 8th army advancing towards the Don.

Pazific theater:

Germany launched a major spring offensive in Russia. Smolensk finally fell to the attacks of 5 armies, 3rd army annihilated. Kursk has been taken by tank forces. General Popov, commander of the defensive line Smolensk - Kursk, has been killed in action. The remaining defenders of 1 army and 1 corps are cut off supply. Rostov is under attack by 2 armies and 1 panzer group.

British sub Truant and Soviet cruiser Maxim Gorky have been sunk by submarines.

Italian forces in Tripolis destroyed, no more Axis troops in North Africa.

Pazific theater:
Japanese occupied Midway. One japanese army destroyed north of Foochow, Chinese troops advancing.

June, 21st 1942:

Joined Allied Headquarter announces:

European theater:
Rostov finally fell to the attacks of 2 armies and 1 panzer group supported by 2 Stuka squadrons. Another panzer groups has been sighted near Rostov.

Soviet forces in the pocket between Smolensk and Kursk have been wiped out. Attack on Voronezh has begun with destroying one defending corps north. 4 panzer groups and 2 armies are concentrated here.

In the area of Smolensk 5 armies and 1 corps are advancing towards Moscow. German paratroopers have been reinforced.

Battleship Strasbourg sunk by the RAF. Aircraft carrier (Graf Zeppelin?) sighted near Bristol. Heavy attacks of RAF cause unknown damages.


Pazific theater:
Amphibious assault on Dutch India by Japanese special forces supported by fighter planes from an aircraft carrier. Battleship Yamato cannonades the city. Air raids on Hong Kong.

European theater:
German tanks advancing into the Caucasus, Maikop has been taken.

4 tank groups outflank the defenders of Moscow in the south east, destroying Zhukov HQ and threating the air fields. Reinforcements have been brought in. Germany infantry attacks north west of Moscow. Situation for Moscow is getting real serious.

Pazific theater:
Dutch India taken by Japanese special forces. Japanese army destroyed near Hong Kong.

September, 2nd 1942:

Joined Allied Headquarter announces:

European theater:
1 panzer group and 2 armies in front of Baku. Heavy attacks on corps south west of Baku but defenders hold there lines.

2 armies and special forces bypassed Stalingrad crossing the Volga at two points attacking one of the two defending corps, only minor casualities.

4 German tank groups and paratroopers now north east of Moscow ahead of Vologda. In heavy fights one corps has been annihilated, tank forces with serious damages.
Another panzer group west of Moscow destroying in combined attacks with infantry and Stukas one army but suffering heavily at the same time. Reinforcements (one army) have been thrown in the gap.

4 German and one Finnish army attacking north west but defenders stand.

Leningrad declared open city.

British troops (tanks and infantry) landed on Sicilia protected by strong naval forces. Only air forces in Palermo which have been nearly destroyed. 2 battleships sighted in the harbours of Palermo and Taranto.

American reinforcements for Europe (2 armies and Bradley HQ) have been sunk by subs and strong surface naval forces near Gibraltar.

Portugal and Mexico joined the allies.

Pazific theater:
German subs at Perth disturbing the trade routes. Japanese battleship damaged by Flying Tigers. Chinese troops continue to attack and push back the Japanese aggressors.

European theater - East:
In the defense of Moscow three armies have been wiped out. One corps has been destroyed near Stalingrad. Fascist infantry and tanks suffer heavily. One panzer group destroyed north east of Moscow.

German advance on Stalingrad has slown down due to supply problems. Only minor fights in the Caucasus.

European theater - South:
Palermo has been reinforced with an Italian corps. British troops without supply but destroyed an Italian bomber squadron on the ground. Canadian tank group also landed on Sicilia immediately attacking and halving the strength of the defending corps.

Italian battleships and a submarine desperately attacked the invasion force before Sicilia, sinking carrier Illustrious. Both battleships have been sunk in return. Submarine evades all air strikes.

Greece joined the Allies.

Pazific theater:
Japanese forces landed in Australia, taking Perth without fight. South west of Foochow a Japanese army has been annihilated. Battleship Yamato heavily damaged by Flying Tigers.

European theater - East:
Battle of Moscow continues. Germans throw in their newest tanks (level 5). Soviet tanks roll directly on the battlefields out of the factories of Moscow.

2 Garde tank armies, 4 armies, engineers and 1 corps to stop the Fascists while 6 German and 1 Finnish army, 1 German corps, 1 panzer group, 2 artillery groups and 2 HQs attack from the north-west, west and south-west. 3 panzer groups, paratroopers and 1 HQ attack from the east.

Stalingrad under heavy Stuka attacks but defenders do not surrender.

New tanks also in the Caucasus. Baku defended by 2 corps still in Soviet hands.

German special forces attack Kuybyshev but have been thrown back by Soviet special forces.

European theater - South:
Palermo taken by Allied Expedition Corps establishing the beachhead in Europe. German 2nd army defending the access to Naples immediately under attack by Allied tank forces. Battleships attack the air grounds near Naples.

Italian submarine finally sunk near Palermo, Royal Navy now dominates the Mediterranean Sea.

XIX German panzer group transferred to Sofia. Allied forces reinforce Greek troops to defend the second beachhead in Europe. Battleship Duke of York attacks German tank forces from the sea.

Pazific theater:
Cruisers Australia, Perth and Sydney sunk near Brisbane by battleships and torpedo bombers. All quiet on Chinese front.

Fightings around Moscow continue but winter weather slows down the Germans. Baku and the nearby oilfiels have been taken by tank forces. Tiblisi under attack.

European theater - South:
Naples under continued attacked by the Allied expedition force. Heavy air fights around Naples.

Sofia under attack by Greek and American infantry. German panzer korps destroyed nearby.

Pazific theater:
Japanese naval forces sunk an American submarine and the First Marine tank group near Brisbane. Foochow taken by the Chinese.

February, 28th 1943:

European theater - East:
Battle of Moscow lasts for several month now. No further progress for the Germans. Reinforcements are thrown directly on the battlefields. Finnish corps attacks Murmansk. Tiblisi has fallen, Caucasus completely in German hands. Forces are expected to be moved to Stalingrad or Moscow soon.

European theater - South:
Naples still under attack by Allied forces but with limited supply. HQ Balbo supported by strong air forces holds the city and blocks the access to the Italian mainland. Stuka squadron destroyed by carrier Glorious.

German counterattacks near Sofia supported by Bulgarian infantry. Another German infantry army has been moved their.

Pazific theater:
Heavy air attacks by Japanese, fighter squadron destroyed. Chinese troops continue their attacks on the retreating Japanese.

European theater - East:
During the battle of Moscow an infantry army has been annihilated. Heavy attacks on the 42nd army defending west of Moscow. Weather is changing turning the ground into mud.

European theater - South:
Around Naples heavy air fights. Battleships of the Royal Navy attack air fields from the sea causing heavy casualties. Front south of Sofia frozen.

West of Bristol cruisers London and Sussex have been sunk by superior German naval forces including 5 submarines, a battleship and a carrier.

Pazific theater:
Another Japanese army destroyed north of Foochow. Additionally Chinese army starts attacks on the left wing of the front now. Line of attack is Peking.
