Hallo Leute,

mal was ganz anderes - deshalb hier im Bereich Off-Topic!

Welche Musik hört ihr so - immer - oder speziell in Sachen Panzergeneral?

Um rege Beteiligung wird gebeten!
Es gibt zwar nix materielles zu gewinnen, aber vielleicht Erkenntnisse?

Huhu,

dann fange ich gleich mal an!

Seit frühester Kindheit und Jugend gehört mein Musikherz und somit auch Musikhirn und die Musikohren dem Hardrock und dem Heavy Metal

Meine erste CD damals war die World Wide Live von den Scorpions.
Davor auch noch Kassetten von Europe, Bon Jovi, Accept und Saxon.

Meine aktuellen Top-Five sind:

Powerwolf (teilweise deutsche Band)
Sabaton (vorrangig militärische Texte der Schwedischen Band)
Kissin Dynamite (komplett deutsche Band)
Accept (teilweise deutsche Band)
Saxon (Briten, Altmeister seit 1979)

Faszinierend finde ich dazu derzeit Arch Enemy, eine Growling-Tante, die es echt drauf hat

Na dann gebe ich auch mal was preis

Ich habe mich seit dem 16.Lebensjahr dem Rock'n'Roll verschrieben,speziell dem Rockabilly.
Ab dem 12.bis 16. Lebensjahr habe ich mich auch beim Heavy Metal,Punk,Ska,Reggae und Folk-Rock ausprobiert.
Hängengeblieben bin ich nunmehr seit 34 Jahren beim Rockabilly.
Dabei rede ich nicht vom Mainstream Elvis ,sondern den gerade unbekannteren Künstlern der 50er Jahre.
Da ich die aber schon alle rauf und runter gehört habe,bin ich zu den aktuellen Bands weitergegangen.Da gibt es unzählige,gute Bands auf der ganzen Welt. Als da wären : Crazy Cavan &The Rhythm Rockers,Wise Guyz,Booze Bombs ,Jack Rabbit Slim,etc.
Diese Bands werde euch alle nichts sagen,sind auch eher in der jetzigen R'n'Roll Szene bekannt.
Diese gilt als eher familiär,beispielsweise....wenn man Konzerte in Holland,Belgien,England oder Frankreich besucht,dann findet man dort zu 70% die gleichen Besucher,die sich zu deutschen Konzerten einfinden.so findet man in ganz Europa immer einen Pennplatz,wenn man gerade unterwegs ist.

Moin Leute,

hier meine musikalisch History:
also ca. 1990 bis 93 hab ich Techno gehört -> Mayday oder sowas wie "I wanne be a hippi"
ca. ab 94 - dann der knallharte Wechsel zum deutschsprachigem Punk-Rock - damals: Slime, Dritte Wahl, Skeptiker, Normahl, Wizo oder Schlachtrufe -> endete in 2 Jahre mit Gitarre im Zimmer verbringen und als Berufswunsch "Punk in Barcelona" -> Ok dat wurde nix

Alte Band wurden ausgetausch durch sowas wie: Wohlstandskinder, der dicke Polizist, Tut das Not, Ni ju san, Mutabor, 1. Mai 87 und Pascow und so was - aber auch die gibts fast alle nicht mehr *gg* Dazu kam dann ein kleiner Abstecher in das Metal -> Powermetal ist geil -> Vorallem Hammerfall !!! oder so leicht gothic sachen wie Nightwish ging auch mal. Und dann Abstecher zu Speedfolk und Ska... Da ist insbesondere Ska-P aus Spanien und Talco aus Italien meine Renner

Sabaton hab ich schon mal gehört - und Powerwolf sollte Powermetal sein oder? Nicht so ganz klar wie Hammerfall oder etwas düsterer aber passt schon.

Moin Generäle,

nach der Email zur Musik dachte ich, ich muß mich auch mal wieder melden.
Ich hab ja im Januar meinen ersten Sohn bekommen, Jan Henrik Konrad. Zudem habe wir ein Häuschen gekauft, wo gerade renoviert wird.Hatte bzw. habe viel um die Ohren, könnte ihr euch ja vorstellen. Anfang 2018 ist der Einzug geplant.
Ich hoffe, daß ich dann auch wieder zum Spielen komme.

Musik habe ich bei PG immer gehört: historisch passende Soldatenlieder

Gebe gerne eine Aufstellung, falls es gewünscht ist. Allerdings kann ich mich noch an die Diskussion zur Baltenfahne erinnern, daher halte ich mich lieber zurück.

first to answer the question if I am listening the music while playing PG. Basically no. Radio, or no music at all. Just the sound of howitzers (in some scenarios mules, but that is terrible).

I guess that my music taste is the most conventional (commercial) one. I like very much the approach that Hosa used, by decades, so I will (learn from the master

) use the same.

first half of '70s I was listening lullaby

second half of '70s, due to my elder brother, I was listening Deep Purple,The Doors, AC/DC
'80, I was going on the two fronts
eastern one -Yugoslav new wave & punk (you are not familiar with the names of this groups, so no need to post them)
western front - David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, new wave, Sex Pistols, The Cult, Billy Idol, and a lot of groups with just one good song.
first half of '90, extension of '80s. Nirvana, Red hot chilly papers, Bowie, Billy ...Roger Waters...
second half of '90, the time has stop, until the present day. In the last 25 yeas there is only 4-5 songs that i really like. The logic is telling me that this more related to my mental state than the lack of good music, but I don't accept that argument.

One more thing that influenced my development and that is related to music, but also with "la marcha" (going out with friends, having good time in bars, I don't know exact word in English).

I never ever was listening jazz at home. It is just to "heavy" for me, I have headache, it makes me nervous. But... long time ago there was a jazz club in "Youth Center". The jazz sessions were made on Tuesday evening, starting about 23h. I am talking about 86', '87 & '88, time of my last two years in the high school. In the winter, the best Yugoslav jazz musician, which were playing in the US during the summer, were playing in that club. There were only 3 drinks to order: beer, vodka and exotic juice (some non alcoholic beverage, never tried).The prices were literally cheaper than in the shop (donated by the Ministry of Culture). Few times it happened that we were going strait to the School from the club. That were the great School dayz, drawback is that today I don't like jazz in the clubs. Simply I can't accept the second league, when I know for much much better. Also today, you can't approach to the first class musician, invite them a drink, ask questions, times has changed. Jazz session is not the concert, it is so much more. For me jazz is closed chapter, but the good one. And money invested by ancient Ministry of Culture, is probably the best invested money by any Ministry.

To finish this very long post,and to make it even longer, Volker you have asked for it

, I must do it with David Bowie. When he died, suddenly, everyone is great fun of him, even the people who does't now two verse of his songs. I hate this things. For me Bowie was like a like furniture, member of family, friend from childhood. Something that was ever present, since I can remember. Something that you don't notice, because it is always there. The feeling when I had when I have heard of his death, I can compare with the feeling when the first from my generation passed away. Just the feeling of transience. I like very much his albums Ziggy Stardust, Diamond Dogs, Rare. When he made album Let's dance, I have stop listing his new albums. Pure commercial. Until his last one. I knew that he made a last album days before his death, but skeptical due his last 20 years of commercial music I was not willing to hear it, until I have heard comments of one music critic that I do respect. More or less about one month after he grasped for the stars, I have forced myself to hear his last songs, and I was hugely surprised. The old magician returned to put the new standard. Nowadays every fagot with two bulbs and creepy sound declares himself as multimedia artist. Multimedia is very profane, due to the very poor artist. I am talking about multimedia, because Bowie's last two songs, Lazarus and Blackstar, are really multi medial masterpieces, with all visual and lyric symbolic as a new task for young artist. Almost two years have passed since, and nobody took the challenge, so all we can hear from new songs is pure BS.

Ansonsten zur Musik - beim daddeln höre ich immer nur das gedudel des Spiels - weshalb ich auch Ag so mag.

Ansonsten bin ich vom Heavy Metal ( Maiden, Judas, Mötley Crue, Saxon, etc ) mittlerweile (vermutlich) durch altersbedingte Milde beim "zahmen" AC/DC angelangt ...

Eigentlich sind wir mindestens vier! Wenn ich mich an meine ausufernde PBEM-Konversation mit Rincewind2 erinnere, dann war (ist) er großer Fan von Iced Earth.

@Volker: Wieso haben wir uns früher eigentlich nie über Musik bei unseren PBEM's unterhalten? Da hätten wir schon viel gemeinsames entdeckt!

Am Samstag fahre ich wieder mal in meinen Lieblings-Club - https://hellraiser-leipzig.de/ . Lacuna Coil ist jetzt nicht so ganz mein Ding (stehe eher auf ältere Songs von Nightwish aus der Tarja Turunen-Ära) aber ich habe es einer guten Freundin angeboten sie dahin zu begleiten.
Nächste Woche Dienstag geht's zu MTV-Headbangersball mit den Cavalera-Brüdern (Sepultura/BRA) + Overkill und Konsorten. Dirkschneider kommt am 2. Dezember ins Haus Auensee und ich ringe noch stark mit mir, ob ich hin gehe. Mein letzter Konzertbesuch bei ihm war Anfang der Neunziger bei U.D.O. und ich erinnere mich hauptsächlich an einen lang anhaltenden Tinitus, haha.
Dann am 30. Dezember zu JBO - ein bisschen Spaß muss sein!
27. Januar 2018 zu Cradle Of Filth + Moonspell.
23. Februar 2018 zu SYMPHONIC METAL NIGHTS in die http://www.altespinnerei.de/

Fußläufig ist in Chemnitz eher unwahrscheinlich. Die Zeiten wo Hard'N'Heavy-Kapellen vorbeischauten sind irgendwie lange vorbei. Seit Jahren fahre ich entweder nach Glauchau (ca. 40km + Rückfahrt; Musikangebot aber rückläufig), Dresden (AlterSchlachthof, gelegentlich Beatpol; ca. 80km + Rückfahrt) oder eben Leipzig (Hellraiser, Haus Auensee; ca. 100km + Rückfahrt).

Mein erstes Konzert nach dem Mauerfall war Iron Maiden/Anthrax in der Deutschlandhalle/Westberlin im November 1990. Anfahrt mit Trabi. Nach dem Konzert in der Nacht wieder zurück - eine Mords-Tour. Den Konzerten in der näheren Umgebung (siehe oben) sind 1991 (Berlin/Waldbühne) und 1992 (Mannheim/Maimarktgelände) die Besuche der Monsters of Rock - Festivals vorangegangen. Leider wurde die Konzertreihe danach eingestellt.

Musik - welche hört ihr beim PG-Spielen? Haha, überhaupt keine. Ich drehe auch die Musik und Kampfgeräusche im Spiel völlig runter. Erstens gehen sie mir nach den vielen Jahren langsam auf den Zeiger und zweitens leiste ich meiner Frau Gesellschaft während sie TV schaut. Und wie auf dem Jahrmarkt, wo die unterschiedlichste Beschallung aus allen Ecken hervorquillt, muss es im heimischen Wohnzimmer ja nicht zugehen (§1 StVO!)

Eigentlich war ich auch auf die musikalische Ausrichtung von

gespannt, aber so richtig hat er sich nicht in die Karten schauen lassen:

I will put some links, but before that, it is important to try to put yourself in the time frame. Zeitgeist. Yugoslavia is totalitarian communist regime, popular songs were patriotic ones, Italian canzone, or pale copies of the Beatles. In 1980 Tito dies, in 1981 we have explosion of new music, new sound, new lyrics, a lot of experimentation. Literature, theater, movies are still glorifying walking death (the old regime), but the musicians starts to challenge it. The music was offensive, and the lyrics were mocking and criticizing the society.

- definitely the most influential album was Paket aranžman (Package Tour). It is a split album composed of three different bands.

- from the artistic side of music, Odbrana i poslednji dani (The Defense and the Last Days) is the best one. It has received various European awards, among them in 2015 it was polled the greatest Yugoslav rock album in the special edition of Croatian Rolling Stone.

Yeah, geht ab! Gefällt mir auch und erinnert mich über drei Ecken an eine All-Girl-Band aus den frühen Achtzigern: GIRLSCHOOL ... kommen hier mit c'mon let's go. Die Mädels waren übrigens gute Freunde von Lemmy/Motörhead und haben auch zusammen musiziert ... Please Don't Touch

Höher geht immer, ist nur nicht mehr "IN". Bestes Beispiel kommt aus Dääänemark - King Diamond - das hatte schon was Spezielles und musikalisch war das Mitte der Achtziger gehobenes Niveau (habe einige Vinyls von denen im Regal)

Dem kann ich guten Gewissens beipflichten. War für mich eine der Entdeckungen der letzten Zeit (wobei ich die Band schon seit Jahren kenne, mich aber wenig für sie interessierte) und habe deshalb dieses Jahr erstmals ein Konzert von ihnen besucht. Auch optisch meine Kragenweite

, Musik nimmt bemerkenswerte Entwicklungen. Die Schweiz ist für den Konsum dieser Musik sicher gut geeignet ...

Du hast ja in den beiden letzten Jahrzehnten auch einen musikalischen Wandel zu mehr klassischen Tönen vollzogen. Ich bin dieser Musik prinzipiell nicht abgeneigt. Meine Eltern schleppten mich schon frühzeitig ins Karl-Marx-Städter Opernhaus uns ich wurde mit verschiedenen Oper- und Operettenmelodien konfrontiert. In der DDR gab es einige Rockbands die klassisches Material in ein neues musikalisches Gewand steckten. Dazu zählten u.a. die Stern-Combo-Meissen als auch Electra (aus Dresden). Sie waren gewissermaßen unser musikalischer Ersatz für solche internationalen Genre-Größen wie Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Meine Empfehlung für Dich - versuch mal die Kombination aus Klassik + Metal!
Dazu zwei Reinhör-Tipps von mir.

I did listen the link you have post (Army) and the music is rely good. The rhythm is very good and you can feel energy and emotions. Unfortunately Polish is very different and practically I can understand nothing. Only in one song I can distinguish a call "All on the streets" (Svi na ulice). I can see that album is from '87. I was in Poland in '84, and people lived very very hard. Economically on the first place. In Yugoslavia we had a "soft" Socialism, we were never a member of Warsaw pact, and politically and economically it was a huge differences than in the "classic" east-block. As I can remember in '80es nobody get jailed for song or a book. It did happened few times that the publishers asked some words to be changed in the song or just not to publish it. Not a big deal, and everyone knew the original words.

that is 100% true. The musicians had to do their best, to make double meaning of the words, to use allegory and symbolism. My opinion is also that conditions forced them to do their maximums (well, in the world literature and the paintings, the best works of arts came from the great countries that has just outlived some very hard period of time. Probably suffering and frustrations are giving better inspiration than a good life).

Translating the songs is the hardest thing to do in translations, and usually with very poor results. So, to post one example how they did it, I will not go for original one, instead I will post a link of one cover of a song that I believe is familiar to you. Life is live, cover by Laibach from 1987. It is important to watch video also.

Somehow, it is giving some extreme wright impression. If you look in details, the singer is dressed in uniform of Yugoslav army, and the funny hat is just a little bit modified hat that Italian partisans were wearing. There is no explicit symbol of far wright, the words are from regular foreign song and basically state prosecutor has nothing to accuse them. Don't forget that was 1987, Communist regime. Personally I like very much when the camera is picturing graveyard crosses, and the song sings "life is life". I like contrasts

. I am not pushing left or wright, just giving example how with a little bit of effort artist can mock a ruling class.

For you, my Warlord, It sounds strange that somebody can be jailed for the song, but don't get fooled. People are still chased like a wild animals just for the words they sad or published. Maybe the artists are not on the hunting list, but whistleblowers exposing wrongdoings of government are the prime targets. They are jailed, or forced to take asylum in cold countries or 20m2 Embassy flat. People are severely jailed for unauthorized download (in "good" old Communism reading or listening was not a punishable sin, just publishing) of corporate BS property. Peasants (farmers) are penalized if they use their own seed for next plantation. If you use plastic money,every payment that you have made, every location of your payment, every SMS or conversation is stored for at least 2 years. You can be listen from every device with microphone that you have, phone, TV, loudspeaker with Bluetooth etc, in real time, in the car, living room or bedroom. It sounds scary when you put all this things on the pile, but don't be afraid my Warlord. Legislation is protecting us, as British MP Richard Graham, defending a new surveillance bill, had quoted Joseph Goebbels with the words "if you've nothing to hide you have nothing to fear" (2015).

Laibach was always making provocations. Now when Slovenia is democratic state, they held a concert in North Korea.
About British MP, well they should have a very good education. For me it is not important what Goebels sad. It is important that the people who are creating bills (law) are using the same argument as Goebels, even if he didn't know. It would be so much better that he quoted Benjamin Franklin "If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both."

Well I have gone to far from the topic of the thread. The music. I only wanted to express, that a music had a very special importance for my generation, due to the specific conditions in the country. How I get to British MP? Probably I am just overreacting on any sign of restricting liberty and possibility of going back to some totalitarian government.

I would like to say few more words about Red Army Choir concerts. You have reminded me, and the memory just starts to pull back. On the first concert, the musicians were wired, but the choir was not. There were 40 or 50 of them, I don't know exactly, and they started to sing. First solo, classical mail Russian baritone, then the others entering one by one. When all of them were singing, I don't know was it for real or just impression, but the hall was vibrating. Why I am mentioning that?, because that is a huge space. The hall is for 4k people (2500 in basement, and 1500 in gallery) and no one before, or after, never ever tried to sing without loudspeakers in that space. That was once in lifetime experience. It is really sad that they have died in that terrible incident.
The second concert was perfectly performed, perfectly played, perfectly commercial and perfectly nothing to remember.

More than a god music and good lyrics in one song I appreciate the emotion in the voice of the singer(s). I will post two songs, but please just listen the emotion in the voice, and don't listen them before few drinks

Hi palatine Mark,

we are not the only one with Russians to use Cyrillic script. About 250 million people in dozen countries are using it as official script (alphabet). Probably you will be surprised that Cyrillic script became the third official script in EU (due to Bulgaria).

About languages. Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian are not just similar. In fact that is one language. How would you call it, is a political question, but from linguistic side that is the same language. With some effort we can understand and communicate with Bulgarian, Macedonian (very similar to Bulgarian) and Slovenian. Slovakian is different but something can be understood. Czech, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian are very different and I can't understand anything.

Regarding the second post. I think that medieval times are over and that we are living in Brave New World.
