Rome gambit |
Allies declare war on Italy (mostly in turn 6-8) and take Rome. Italy will surrender in the same turn. |
Absolutely forbidden in the PL! |
Embarking/disembarking bug |
Ground units that are loaded onto ships have maximum supply after they unload even when they have had bad supply values before.
The trick is to embark a unit (i.e. supply 5) in a port and immediately disembark it to attack with maximum supply. |
Of cause it works only in the neighbourhood of a port ;)
Talk about it with your opponent!
If you cannot come to an understanding with your opponent, then: It is banned embark a unit in a port, disembark it at the same port in the same turn and attack with it. |
Ferry bug |
Since a unit in SC always occupies a whole hex, a piling up of units is not possible. If a ship is stationed in a port and a ground unit is then send into a transport (of cause in the same port *g*) the sea transport will be placed one hex further.
Thus, the unit can be loaded and unloaded in the same turn from London to France / Manchester to Ireland / Kiel to Copenhagen. |
Always leave your ports occupied with troops.
Speak with your opponent about it!
If you cannot come to an agreement with him, then: It is banned to embark a ground unit and disembark it during the same turn at a different place (except your own ports of cause!). |
AA bug |
In SC, cities and ports grant an additional protection against air attacks for units stationed there, the more you research anti aircraft. If a unit (air fleet/carrier) attacks from one of these AA hexes, the defence bonus will be credited to this unit, even though the battle takes place over a very different hex. Your losses remain the same, but the losses for your enemy increase. |
You need to research AA first and that is quite costly and time-consuming. Additionally, other things (i.e. heavy tanks, anti tank, Jets) should have a high research priority also.
Talk about it with your opponent!
If you cannot come to an understanding with him, then: It is banned to attack with carriers or air fleets from cities or ports (from AA level 1 on) and benefit from the AA bonus! Everything else is allowed (intercepting, defending, etc.) |
Air strikes against HQs |
Headquarter do not have a defence against enemy air attacks. Thus, you can purposefully annihilate military commanders when you have "sight contact". And an army without generals is quite in the cart. ;) |
Protect your HQs with air fleets from attacks. Entrench them in the right terrain or place them out of enemy range...a useful rule can be to limit LongRange to lv 2

If you cannot come to an understanding with him, then: It is banned to attack HQs with aircrafts or carriers. |
